A practical PTE Academic study method
Use each practice attempt to answer a specific question about your performance. Choose a task, try it without looking up the answer, review the response and change one thing next time.
Choose a task with a purpose
Start with a task you want to improve, such as Repeat Sentence or Write From Dictation. Keep the Academic exam mode selected and read the task instructions before beginning.
Attempt, compare and correct
Complete the question under its normal conditions. Compare your response with the prompt, answer or available feedback. Separate errors you can act on, such as missing words or an unclear summary, from uncertain practice estimates.
Keep a short note of the error pattern and attempt another question. A correction only becomes useful when you apply it in the next response.
Combine focused work with longer practice
Task drills make individual errors visible. Longer mock-style sessions help you practise switching between tasks and managing attention. Use both formats as your plan allows, and check current plan details before purchase.
Interpreting practice results
MaxPTE is independent of Pearson. Practice estimates and AI-assisted feedback can guide your study, but they are not official scores or guarantees. Use the official PTE resources for current test rules and score interpretation.
